CHRISTMAS PRESENCE
Christmas Presence is a narrative poem which tells the sad story of forgotten people trying to survive Christmas. A bag lady, street girl, mail carrier, single mom, business owner, and an abandoned woman in a nursing home all suffer the prospect of being alone at Christmas unless a miracle can change their lives. The “miracles” they experience turn out to be the simple acts of kindhearted people. Each beautifully illustrated story takes the reader on a journey from hopelessness to redemption proving that the best Christmas present we can share is our caring presence in the life of some forgotten soul.
Jim Timonere wrote Christmas Presence over 20 years ago at the lowest point in his life. Since then he has shared the poem with thousands of people, some of whom read it together every Christmas Eve. This revised publication and wonderful new artwork enhance the stories and enforce the message that “the greatest presents we can give are gifts of precious time”.
